It all started in 1906, with the Sitz Ranch established in Drewsey, Oregon. The family ranch was formed along the Malheur River in the high desert mountains of Eastern Oregon, which creates a natural place to raise cattle. Today the ranch still produces award-winning, recognized, top-quality Red Angus cattle raised naturally.

Growing up on the ranch with my parents, brothers and sister, uncles, aunts, fun cousins, and wonderful grandparents, it was always the place our families gathered—a tradition. On the ranch, we grew up learning hard work, respect, love for each other, and care for the land and cattle that provided for us. As I grew up and moved on into my profession, the ranch and farm life has always been the base of my foundation.

In 2010, with the help of the Sitz and Harris Ranches providing top-quality Red Angus steers, we started the Sitz Farm in Sisters, Oregon. Our farm's vision is to provide our customers with ranch-raised, farm-finished, quality natural beef. As a consumer, you should know where your beef was born, how it was raised, and where it was harvested.

As they do on the ranches, we aim to be stewards of the land and our herd by providing open grazing, freedom to roam, reduction of stress, and continuous access to good grass, fresh water, and fresh air. Like in the beginning, our grandparents and neighbors' traditions were when everyone helped each other out, when beef came from the ranch next door, and neighbors were on a first-name basis with their local rancher and butcher.
